We'd love for you to attend our upcoming meeting on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Boulder Creek Golf Club to hear Steve Waalkes give a talk about Concrete Trends for 2026 and beyond.

Steve Waalkes, from the Michigan Concrete Association, will cover what's new and trending in the industry for 2026, including concrete materials and mixture optimizations, sustainable mixtures, equipment innovations, and emerging challenges facing producers and contractors in Michigan.  Steve will also talk about what MCA does for contractors and suppliers in Michigan for those that haven't heard about MCA in the past.

Steve Waalkes is a licensed professional engineer who has worked for the concrete industry in Michigan for twenty years.  He has served as the MCA Executive Director for the past two years, and was the Director of Engineering prior to that.  In short, Steve helps shape how roads and concrete infrastructure are designed and built across the state.  He and his wife have four sons, live in Grand Rapids, and enjoy traveling, home projects, and hockey.  Fun fact:  his two older sons have worked summers testing concrete for MTC and Driesenga.
