LOW-CARBON CONCRETE: HOW DO WE GET THERE?
SUMMARY: Driven by the public and private sector actions to reduce CO2 emissions from all industrial processes, the cement and concrete industries have accepted the challenge to be carbon-neutral by 2050. Steps to achieve this goal have already been taken, such as adoption of Type IL cements, but both industries need to do more. Future actions will be a mixture of implementing what we already know, using conventional materials, and development and use of new materials and technologies. This presentation will discuss some of the driving forces moving the industry to net-zero carbon and existing and emerging solutions to be implemented.
SPEAKER: Larry Sutter, Ph.D., P.E., F.A.C.I, F.A.S.T.M. - Sutter Engineering, LLC - 51998 Canal Road - Houghton, Michigan, 49931 - 906.370.7737 - [email protected]
